Dealmaking in May saw startups in Asia raising $7.42 billion, a decline of 2.2% from $7.59 billion raised in April. This was the result of significant drops in dealmaking in India and Southeast Asia at nearly 25% and 30% respectively. A healthy month of dealmaking in China salvaged Asia’s performance for May, with a rise of 41.2%.
