Ascertis Credit, an India- and Southeast Asia-focused performing private credit platform, has crossed $700 million in commitments for its fourth fund that is targeting a corpus of about $1 billion.

The latest milestone builds on the fund’s earlier first close, which attracted institutional investors, family offices and other long-term capital providers from India and global markets.

The latest close of Ascertis Credit Fund IV included commitments from existing LPs and new investors, including insurance companies, development financial institutions and family offices in India and overseas.

“Private credit in Asia is increasingly filling a significant funding gap in the credit markets. As businesses across the region continue to grow and evolve, there is a clear need for flexible and intelligent capital solutions that go beyond traditional lending models,” said Kanchan Jain, Head of Ascertis Credit Group, in a media a statement.

“We continue to see strong interest from global investors who recognise the depth of the opportunity in India and Asia, and the potential for performing credit to deliver differentiated, risk-adjusted returns across market cycles,” she added.

Ascertis Credit, earlier called BPEA Credit, has invested around $2 billion in companies across sectors through since its inception 12 years ago.

The firm focuses on performing private credit investments in Asia ex-China, with an emphasis on India and Singapore and Southeast Asia. It has offices in Singapore, Delhi, Mumbai, GIFT City and Bengaluru.
