Granite-Integral has made a $10-million strategic investment in Berlin-based travel booking platform Omio to accelerate the company’s expansion in Japan and deepen its presence across Southeast Asia, according to an announcement.

Granite-Integral, a joint venture between Granite Asia and Integral Corporation, will support Omio in strengthening its transport network across Japan and Southeast Asia, expanding local partnerships, enhancing its customer offering, and growing its regional teams in Japan and its AI-focused technology hub in Singapore.

The funding follows Omio’s launch in Japan earlier this year, as international travel to Japan and Southeast Asia continues to grow. With Asia Pacific expected to be the world’s fastest-growing travel region over the next five years, the company is expanding its transport network to simplify multimodal travel across the region.

Omio has also been expanding its local transport inventory through partnerships with operators including Japan Railways and Willer Express.

The company currently offers bookable transport services across 48 countries and serves more than 1 billion users annually, with one traveller booking through its platform every second. Omio aims to expand into more than 70 markets by 2028, with Japan and Southeast Asia identified as key growth priorities.

“Japan is one of the most exciting travel markets in the world today. Millions of travellers visit every year, but planning journeys across different operators and transport modes can still be complex, particularly beyond the major cities. With Granite-Integral’s unparalleled regional expertise, we intend to accelerate a new era of connected travel in Japan, expand our presence across Southeast Asia, and continue building a more connected future for travel across Asia,” said Naren Shaam, founder and CEO of Omio.

CK Choun, co-head of Granite-Integral, said Japan and Southeast Asia represent “some of the most important long-term opportunities in global travel”, citing rising demand for more connected travel experiences across the region.

Granite-Integral manages $100 million in committed capital and focuses on backing growth-stage technology companies with established product-market fit and domestic scale. The firm combines Granite Asia’s technology investment experience across Asia Pacific with Integral Corporation’s operational expertise and network in Japan.

In 2025, Granite Asia, formerly known as GGV Capital Asia; and Japan-listed private equity firm Integral Corporation launched Granite-Integral, a joint venture looking to invest in high-growth companies with a strong Japan nexus.

Granite-Integral made its first investment in the $15-million Series B funding round of Japan’s Notta AI, an AI-based note-taking app in December last year.
