Malaysia’s Maybank Asset Management has launched a private credit feeder fund with Switzerland-based LGT Capital Partners, according to an announcement Tuesday.
The MAMG Global Private Credit Fund will invest in LGT Global Private Credit SA, SICAV-RAIF, giving Malaysian high-net-worth investors exposure to a diversified private credit strategy managed by LGT Capital Partners, the companies said.
The fund marks Maybank Asset Management’s latest push into private markets, a segment that has gained traction among banks and wealth platforms in Asia as private investors seek access to asset classes historically dominated by institutions.
“We have been deliberate in how we expand our private markets capabilities, and every step has been taken with a clear view of where we want to be over the next decade,” Hisham Hamzah, chief executive of Maybank Asset Management, said.
Maybank Asset Management said it is the exclusive third-party entity offering the LGT strategy to individual investors in Malaysia.
The fund will be distributed through Maybank Private Banking and Maybank Wealth Management channels.
The target fund is backed by commitments from the LGT Endowment, the principal investment portfolio of LGT, which was launched in 1998.
LGT Capital Partners said the strategy is built around a diversified portfolio across private credit strategies and geographies.
Daniel Rauti, partner and member of the executive committee at LGT Capital Partners, said the firm views private credit as “an important complement to traditional fixed income”.
The fund is intended for sophisticated investors with a long-term investment horizon.
It is denominated in Malaysian ringgit and offered across multiple share classes, including MYR, MYR-hedged, US dollar, Australian dollar-hedged, and Singapore dollar-hedged classes.
Minimum initial investments start at 50,000 ringgit, $50,000, A$50,000, and S$50,000, depending on the share class.
Maybank Asset Management Group had 38.5 billion ringgit ($9 billion) in assets under management as of April 30, 2026. LGT Capital Partners manages more than $110 billion in assets and serves over 700 institutional clients across 50 countries.
