National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited (NIIF), India’s sovereign-anchored alternative asset manager, has appointed former PAG executive Gauravjit Singh as managing partner and global head of capital formation, per an announcement.

Singh has nearly two decades of experience in institutional fundraising across India, Asia and global markets. He was previously head of investor relations and fundraising for PAG’s private equity business in Singapore, where he also served on the investment and exit committees.

Prior to PAG, Singh led Investor Relations at True North, where he supported the firm’s expansion into private credit and new institutional markets across the US, Europe, MENA and Japan.

At NIIF, Singh will lead fundraising across its investment strategies and work with existing and new institutional investors.

“As we enter our next phase of growth, deepening our relationships with existing investors, bringing new investors into the NIIF ecosystem and broadening our sources of capital will be important priorities,” said Sanjiv Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO, NIIF.

NIIF has raised $3 billion in new equity commitments over the past 24 months. Earlier this year, its Private Markets Fund II secured up to $750 million at first close against a $1-billion target.

In August, NIIF also raised Rs 19,000 crore ($2 billion) at the first close of its Infrastructure Fund II, more than 60% of its Rs 30,000 crore ($3.2 billion) target.
