Dhruv Vohra to lead Meta’s SE Asia business

Meta has appointed Dhruv Vohra as managing director of its Global Business Group for Southeast Asia.

Vohra will oversee Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, reporting to Benjamin Joe, Meta’s vice president for Asia Pacific, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

He returns to Southeast Asia after previously leading Meta’s small and medium-sized business growth in the region. Vohra joined Meta in 2019 as director for e-commerce and digital natives before expanding his remit to cover SMBs across Asia Pacific.

Vohra has spent seven years at Meta working with e-commerce, digital-native and SMB businesses. His new role will focus on Meta’s commercial strategy across Southeast Asia, including the use of artificial intelligence and business messaging.

The appointment comes as Meta continues to expand its commercial relationships with businesses in the region, where SMBs account for a large share of its business customer base.

Vohra has also contributed to Meta’s research and commentary on Southeast Asia’s digital economy, including its SYNC Southeast Asia series covering digital consumers and e-commerce trends.

Digital Realty Bersama names Indonesia head

Data centre operator Digital Realty Bersama has appointed Raymond Yan as president director, succeeding in a role that will oversee the data centre operator’s strategy and business in Indonesia.

Yan joins the company after serving as president director of PT Centratama Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, a tower infrastructure and in-building DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) company for cellular networks, where he was responsible for strategy, business management, integration and transformation, according to Digital Realty Bersama in a statement on Thursday.

He has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications and digital infrastructure and has managed large capital expenditure programmes and network expansion in Indonesia.

Digital Realty Bersama is a joint venture between US-based Digital Realty and Bersama Digital Infrastructure Asia (BDIA), a Singapore-based digital infrastructure platform backed by Provident Capital Partners, PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk and a consortium led by Macquarie Asset Management.

The company said Yan will lead its strategy, business plans and growth in Indonesia. It also plans to expand its high-density infrastructure and interconnection capabilities as demand for AI and high-performance computing increases.
