Sea Ltd’s e-commerce arm, Shopee, has rolled out a new one-hour delivery service for daily essentials in Indonesia, while Indonesian taxi operator PT Express Transindo Utama Tbk said its service agreement with PT Rekan Anak Bangsa, a unit of GoTo Group, has been terminated, effective July 2, potentially affecting the company’s revenue.

Shopee launches quick commerce for groceries, OTC medicines

Sea Ltd’s e-commerce arm, Shopee, has rolled out a new one-hour delivery service for daily essentials in Indonesia as it steps up efforts to capture demand for faster fulfilment in categories such as groceries and healthcare.

The new service, dubbed Belanja Instant 1 Jam Tiba (Instant Shopping, One-Hour Delivery), allows customers to order fresh produce, frozen food, over-the-counter medicines and household essentials through Shopee’s Instant delivery channel. Orders are guaranteed to arrive within one hour, with users receiving a voucher if the delivery misses the promised window.

To encourage adoption, Shopee is offering discounts of up to 50% on eligible purchases made using its Instant Prioritas service. The company said the offering is designed for users seeking quicker access to everyday necessities without visiting physical stores.

“Consumer needs continue to evolve, and we are focused on improving the online shopping experience by making it faster, easier and more relevant to users’ daily lives,” said Adi Rahardja, Senior Director of Business Development at Shopee Indonesia.

“As more people rely on digital solutions to support their daily activities, including buying fresh food, frozen food and over-the-counter medicines that are often needed urgently, we hope this service will make it easier for users to obtain those products more quickly while reinforcing Shopee as a trusted online shopping destination,” he added.

The company said the service is supported by a network of retail partners, including Klik Indomaret, Hypermart, Hero, and Segari, enabling users to purchase products from nearby merchants to shorten delivery times.

GoTo ends taxi partnership with Express

Indonesian taxi operator PT Express Transindo Utama Tbk said its service agreement with PT Rekan Anak Bangsa, a unit of GoTo Group, has been terminated, effective July 2, potentially affecting the company’s revenue.

The listed transport company disclosed in a filing with the IDX that it had received a notice from PT Rekan Anak Bangsa informing it of the termination of their service procurement agreement. Express acknowledged that the termination could weigh on its financial performance but said it has taken steps to mitigate the impact by expanding other contracts and adding vehicles from other vendors.

The termination marks an early end to a two-year agreement signed in November 2024 under which Express provided operational support for GoTo unit PT Rekan Anak Bangsa’s special rental vehicle (ASK) business, including parking facilities and driver community management. The contract had been scheduled to run until November 2026 and was extendable.

The business had become a key contributor to Express’s top line. According to the company’s financial statements in the first quarter of 2026, revenue from the ASK service accounted for 638.7 million rupiah of the company’s total revenue of 2.27 billion rupiah, or roughly 28%, underscoring the significance of the GoTo contract.
