Zumutor Biologics raises $7.3m

Biotech startup Zumutor Biologics has raised $7.3 million in its pre-Series B funding round from existing investors Accel and Bharat Innovation Fund. The financing also saw participation of new investors Premji Invest, Ashish Kacholia, and Raj Dandu Family Office.

The proceeds will be used to complete the ongoing US FDA Phase 1 clinical trial of its lead drug candidate ZM008, support Phase 1B expansion cohorts, and initiate global Phase 2 studies, including in India.

Founded by Kavitha Iyer Rodrigues, Zumutor Biologics is a biotechnology company focused on developing next-generation immuno-oncology therapies that harness the body’s immune system, particularly natural killer (NK) cells, to fight cancer. ZM008, which it describes as a first-in-class NK cell checkpoint therapy, entered human trials in 2024.
