Nutrition brand TruNativ on Tuesday (June 16) announced that it has raised $30 million in a Series B funding round led by OrbiMed, a healthcare-focused investment firm.

The funding comprised both primary investment and the sale of secondary shares by early investors, according to media reports. The proceeds will be used to expand the company’s distribution network across D2C, quick commerce, modern trade, pharmacy and other retail channels. The funds will also be used to expand TruNativ’s B2B2C ingredient business.

Founded in 2019 by mother-son duo Pranav Malhotra and Mamta Malhotra, TruNativ is an online nutrition brand that claims to deliver clean-label products spanning sugar alternatives, protein, gut health, and wellness. The brand currently sells its products through its own website and various e-commerce marketplaces.

According to a report in Mint, the company is also preparing to enter international markets, with launches in the United Arab Emirates and Singapore targeted by the end of the year.

OrbiMed currently manages approximately $20 billion in assets. The global healthcare investment firm actively deploys this capital across private equity, venture capital, public equities, and royalty/credit strategies to back biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and healthcare services.
