The edtech scene in India may not look very promising at the moment but its importance and viability cannot be underestimated as the demand for quality education in the world’s second most-populated country is huge. There will be an edtech 2.0 wave, Rocketship.vc partner Sailesh Ramakrishnan told DealStreetAsia in an interview.
“It’s more a question of how narrowly you built your solution to support only a use case that was generated by the pandemic or was it more generalised to support quality education in the country? The need of the hour is to tweak and modify existing solutions to support a slightly different situation today. The initial opportunity in education was B2C but the next wave will be about B2B startups,” said Ramakrishnan, a NASA scientist-turned-venture capitalist.
