Digital Edge has secured a $665 million green loan to fund the first phase of its 500-megawatt CGK data centre campus in Indonesia.

The loan was arranged by a consortium including BNP Paribas, Clifford Capital, Crédit Agricole CIB, DBS, Mizuho Financial Group, OCBC, Bank Central Asia and SMBC as mandated lead arrangers.

“This financing underscores Digital Edge’s leadership in sustainable digital infrastructure,” said CFO Jonathan Walbridge. “This has been achieved with the strong support of both existing and new lending partners who share our commitment to responsible growth.”

The data centre is one of the country’s largest planned AI-ready hyperscale facilities. The campus, located in the GIIC Industrial Estate, is part of a $4.5-billion multi-phase investment and will support artificial intelligence and data-intensive workloads across Southeast Asia, the company said.

The financing, structured under Digital Edge’s Green Financing Framework, is the largest green loan raised for a data centre project in Indonesia. The project targets an annualised power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.25, along with LEED certification, recycled water systems and renewable energy integration as part of the company’s plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

The CGK campus is designed to support next-generation hyperscale and AI workloads as demand for cloud and data infrastructure accelerates across the region.
