India Digest: Skye Air Mobility, Boba Bhai, Coreworks.AI raise funding

Early-stage investment platform IAN Group has led the $9-million Series B round in hyperlocal drone delivery platform Skye Air Mobility. In separate developments, Boba Bhai has raised $4.3 million (nearly Rs 40 crore) in a funding round while Enterprise AI startup Coreworks.AI has secured $5 million in seed funding.

IAN Fund leads $9m funding in Skye Air Mobility

Early-stage investment platform IAN Group has led the $9-million Series B round in hyperlocal drone delivery platform Skye Air Mobility through IAN Alpha Fund, the second fund in the firm’s VC fund series, per an announcement on Wednesday.

The round also saw participation from AVNM Ventures, Faad Capital, Bajaj Capital, and other prominent investors, said a joint press statement.

With the new funding, Skye Air plans to start expanding its operations beyond Delhi-NCR into cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, while further strengthening its technology stack across drone operations, airspace management, and autonomous logistics systems, the statement added.

Founded by Ankit Kumar, Skye Air Mobility is building hyperlocal drone delivery networks. The company combines autonomous drones, intelligent airspace management, and ground-based delivery infrastructure to enable scalable and sustainable last-mile logistics. In just over 2 years of operations, the company claims to have completed more than 3.6 million autonomous deliveries while eliminating over 1,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

Boba Bhai raises $4.3m from 8i, others

Quick service restaurant (QSR) chain Boba Bhai has raised $4.3 million (nearly Rs 40 crore) in a funding round from existing investors 8i Ventures, Titan Capital Winners Fund, and Global Growth Capital.

The round also saw participation from new investors Big Capital and some angel investors.

The company intends to use the funding proceeds to accelerate store expansion, strengthen leadership, and launch new products.

Founded in 2023 by Dhruv Kohli, the brand focuses on Korean-inspired fusion cuisine and bubble tea. The company operates through a combination of dine-in outlets and cloud kitchens and plans to scale its footprint to 300 stores by 2026.

The Bengaluru-based startup had previously raised Rs 30 crore (about $3.4 million) in a Series A funding round led by 8i Ventures in January last year.

Together Fund invests in Coreworks.AI

Enterprise AI startup Coreworks.AI has raised $5 million in a seed funding round led by Together Fund, per an announcement.

Based in Bengaluru and San Francisco, the company plans to utilise this capital primarily for product development.

Founded in 2025 by Prashant Kumar and Pavan Sondur, Coreworks AI is currently operating in beta mode and is gearing up for a full-scale platform launch within the next 8 to 12 weeks. The team currently consists of eight people, including the founders.

The platform connects with systems like ERP tools, CRM platforms, financial models, and spreadsheets, understands the data, and turns it into ready-to-use outputs such as board presentations, financial reports, and written insights.
