In the Indonesian agritech space, Hyoshii Farm has raised fresh investments, while eFishery has expanded its AI capabilities by acquiring DycodeX.

Hyoshii Farm raises pre-seed round

Indonesian agri biotech company Hyoshii Farm, known for its premium strawberries, has raised a pre-seed funding round. The undisclosed investment comes from a consortium of angel investors, including family offices of large conglomerates across various industries, alongside contributions from the company’s founders.

The startup will use the funding to boost expansion of production facilities, including strawberry greenhouses, as well as for research and development (R&D).

Founded in 2021, the company said it maintains a profitable operating margin as demand grew over 10-fold in the past year despite a surge in imported berry products in Indonesia. With the current production capacity fully utilised, the company plans to triple its capacity with the latest funding.

“By prioritising trusted growing processes and sustainability, we hope to attract more customers who appreciate the health benefits of consuming locally sourced produce. Moreover, we aim to inspire and empower young talents to join us in addressing the challenges and opportunities within Indonesia’s agricultural sector,” said James Rayawan, co-founder and CEO of Hyoshii Farm.

DycodeX team to merge with eFishery AI division

Indonesia-based aquaculture company eFishery has acquired DycodeX, a local AI-powered IoT startup, Tech in Asia reported. With this move, the company is expected to enhance its AI capabilities, including the launch of a new brand called eFishery.ai. The deal value is undisclosed.

The DycodeX team will merge with eFishery’s artificial intelligence of things and cultivation intelligence division within the company’s product segment. DycodeX’s co-founder and CEO Andri Yadi will lead the team as vice president.

eFishery plans to introduce 10 new products over the next two to three years which include IoT products and platforms, a generative AI product, and various other aquaculture intelligence solutions.

The firm currently offers eFeeder, an AI-driven product facilitating automatic feeding in fish and shrimp farming. It also provides a feed marketplace and a B2B platform for fish trading.
