Peak XV leads funding in Prayaan Capital
Prayaan Capital on Thursday announced that it has raised nearly $12 million (Rs 110 crore) in its Series A funding round led by Peak XV Partners.
The investment will be used to build Prayaan Capital’s lending platform, expand its team, and grow its presence across key MSME markets in India, it said in a statement.
Prayaan is led by Rangarajan Krishnan (Ranga), former JMD and CEO of publicly listed Five-Star Business Finance, who recently acquired a controlling stake in the company. He aims to transform Prayaan into a new-age MSME lending platform, expanding access to credit for India’s small businesses by combining deep on-ground underwriting expertise with a technology-first approach across sourcing, underwriting, and collections.
The company will focus on serving underserved MSMEs across India, a segment that continues to face an estimated $300-billion credit gap.

The fresh capital will be used to accelerate product development, enhance the accuracy of its AI agents, expand engineering teams, and scale go-to-market operations, the statement added.
Founded by Nayrhit Bhattacharya and Adithya Venkatesh in 2023, Gushwork builds autonomous AI marketing agents designed to improve how businesses are discovered and cited on AI search platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini. The company said more than 300 businesses globally use its platform, with over 800 additional companies on its waitlist.
